Fused Cast Basalt
Fused cast basalt is a mineral wear protection material.
To produce it, natural basalt is melted at approx. 1,300°C, poured into moulds and then slowly tempered. This gives the fused cast basalt its uniform crystalline structure. This structure is important for hardness and abrasion resistance.
In addition to the standard plate and cylinder moulds, a variety of other geometric shapes can be cast at the customer's request.
